Scarlett Johansson is now among the directors
Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson will take over the direction of the film ‘Summer Crossing’. The actress has, according to ‘Variety’ the project ‘Summer Crossing’ for her first directing job chosen. The film is based on the novel by Truman Capote, published in German under the title ‘summer thieves’.
The work tells the story of 17-year-old Grady, who wants to come off in New York after the second world war by their rich family. Here, the young woman her social position is at risk, by holding a affair with a parking attendant, this finally marries him and becomes pregnant.
Besides Johansson as a director already more established names in connection with the film. Thus, the screenplay was penned by New York playwright Tristine Skyler. Will be produced ‘Summer Crossing’ by Oscar-winner Barry Spiking and Peter D. Graves, will also work with Alan Schwartz, a representative of the Truman Capote Literary Trust.
